Our Conductor
Chris Thompson, our conductor since 2003/04, is Head of Music at Dauntsey’s School and is known to many through the school’s productions and annual large-scale ventures that recently included Bartok's "Concerto for Orchestra". Upon the death of our former conductor, Alan Harwood, in 2003, Chris accepted the offer to become our regular conductor and has built up a very successful relationship with the orchestra since then.
Friends of the Orchestra
We maintain a list of "Friends" who pay a subscription in return for a number of privileges. If you know of anyone who might like to join, please contact Keith Stephens at the address below.
Committee Members
Chairperson, Caroline Oram, is amongst the second violins. She is responsible for directing the Committee meetings and for general orchestral policy.
Email: cjoram21@hotmail.co.uk
Treasurer, Keith Stephens, can be found amongst the first violins and has the job of rationalising and recording all of the orchestra's financial affairs, (which includes his dealing with the complex requirements of the Charity Commission). We ask that subscriptions, currently £18 per session, should be sent to him, or handed to him at the first rehearsal of each term. If you have any ideas for raising money he is the person to tell.
He is at:

Secretary, Christopher Joseph, is the second oboe. It is his job to write minutes of meetings and to send out the letters. He is also primarily responsible for the orchestra list for each concert, and keeps the database of addresses and phone numbers. Please keep him informed if your address is incorrect, or incomplete and, above all, if you move house.
His address is:

Librarian, Louise Stewart-Cox plays viola and is responsible for the hire and return of all music. You are welcome to take music home for practice, but we do ask that you sign for it, just in case you are unable to come to later rehearsals. If you are a string player, it may be necessary to arrange for the music to be sent when you cannot attend a rehearsal, because we sometimes do not have many copies.
Publicity is undertaken by Helen Neaves. Helen plays 'cello and produces all our posters and tickets. If you know of any potential advertisers, please contact her.
